The short version: the app keeps your information on your phone. We don't have accounts, ads or tracking, and we never sell anything about you.

The Mostly Clean app

You don't need an account to use the app, and it doesn't ask for your name or email.

• What it saves. Your quiz answers, your pace, and the swaps and habits you've started or finished.
• Where it's saved. On your phone only. It is not sent to us, and we can't see it.
• What it doesn't do. No ads, no analytics, no tracking, and no location, contacts, camera or microphone access.
• How to erase it. Tap "Start over" on the You tab, or delete the app. Either one clears everything.

Because your information stays on your phone, it does not move with you to a new phone unless your own device backup carries it over.

Links in the app, such as this page and our Sources page, open in your web browser. Apple may share general, anonymous download and crash information with us if you have agreed to share it with app developers in your phone's settings.

This website and our email list

If you join our email list, we collect your email address and, if you choose to share it, your first name. We use them to send Mostly Clean news and Under the Sink, our newsletter, with one simple swap a week.

Some emails may include links to products. If a link earns us a commission, we'll say so clearly. Commissions never change which swaps we suggest or the order they appear in.

Our email list is stored with Kit, the service we use to send email. Kit may record whether an email was opened or a link was clicked. This website is hosted by Netlify, which may keep standard server logs, like IP addresses, for security. The site doesn't use advertising cookies or tracking pixels.

What we never do

We don't sell, rent or trade your information, and we don't run ads.

Children

Mostly Clean is made for adults. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Your choices

Every email has an unsubscribe link. You can also email us to see, change or delete what we have about you, and we'll take care of it.

Changes

If the app or this policy changes, for example if we add optional accounts, we'll update this page and the date at the top before the change takes effect.
